| Document Readers |
The documents in this area are in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format. It's very likely that you already have the software required to view these documents -- a document reader -- installed on your computer.
You can determine this by left-clicking on any of the documents below: If your computer displays the document content, you can skip the rest of this section.
Below are descriptions of and links to two document readers. Both are provided free-of-charge by their developers.
Adobe Acrobat Reader (AAR) is the industry-standard for document readers. In fact, Adobe created the .pdf format, so you can be sure that all .pdf documents are 100% compatible with AAR.
The drawbacks to AAR are 1) that it can be difficult to install on some machines, and 2) it loads very slowly on many systems. Nevertheless, AAR is the only .pdf document reader that is guaranteed to allow you to properly view all .pdf documents.
Adobe Acrobat Reader is available here.
Foxit Reader is a third-party utility designed to address the installation and performance issues presented by Adobe Acrobat Reader. It installs without a hitch and loads in a flash.
The problem with Foxit Reader is that some documents with complex structures (e.g., extensive indexing, thumbnailing, hyperlinking, etc.) cannot be properly read and/or navigated, though the documents on this site shouldn't present any such problem.
Foxit Reader is available here.
